How it All Began

Growing up on a farm taught me such a great work ethic. I was expected to work from the time I could contribute even with small jobs. I worked at the barn, helped in the vegetable garden, and fed the ducks. I loved being outside and still do!
I did not realize as a young lady that this was all preparing me for becoming a florist. Florists work pretty hard. It is a demanding job with heavy lifting and long hours. All those days on the farm had created quite a tough and resilient worker. Wow!! That has served me for so many years as an event and retail florist.
Our clients see how beautiful everything looks when they arrive, Not many realize all the labor that this moment in time entails. Lots of lifting boxes of flowers, processing them into the water, lugging 5-gallon buckets, and carrying so very many things. Once we have all the beautiful pieces designed we start the process of loading all of the flowers, candles, rental arches, and supplies. Then comes the part the designer has waited for with such excitement! Seeing it all come together. After weeks of planning, managing clients’ wishes and dreaming of how beautiful it will be it is now HERE! Placing the flowers and completing the details is such a joy.
When everyone is complete with the amazing evening. Our team shows up to break it all down, take it back to the shop to unload once again, and put it away. Lots of moving parts and a true team effort. A strong back and a dedication to providing an unforgettable day push us to complete all the details with excellence.
I have spent over 20 years of my life dedicated to providing floral designs for happy, sad, and memorable occasions, What a huge blessing this career has been to my life. I have traveled the country, presented design shows on stage, and won numerous competitions on a local and national level. This career has placed me in the path of some of the most amazing people and wonderful opportunities to develop into an industry and community leader.
From a shy country girl to a multi-award winning leader. It all began on Garrett Farm among the rows of iris surrounded by nature and open fields.
